Tween Book Club

I read a great book, An Unspeakable Crime: The Prosecution and Persecution of Leo Franks, by Elaine Marie Alphin. In 1913, a teenager named Mary Phagan was brutally murdered in the basement of the factory in which she worked. Leo Franks was in the factory that day. So he was accused of her murder. Two years later Leo Franks was killed. Was it justified or was it an "unspeakable crime?" Read the book and find out. This spellbinding true story will keep your interest from cover to cover.

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

There is a new order in North America. The nation of Panem has a shining Capital, which is surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each district's function is to provide goods for the Capital. Every year the districts have a celebration to choose, by a lottery, a male and female  representative to attend the Hunger Games. This honor can be bestowed on  any child twelve to eighteen. The winner of the Games returns to his or her district with prizes and pride...
However, the Games are a fight to the death on live TV. There can be only ONE winner. WHO will survive the games this year? Read Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
